Mac's is known for their burnt ends and this location serves them up just as yummy as the Charlotte location. Although they didn't have the Alabama white sauce that the other location puts out, it wasn't necessary as the ends were sauced to perfection. The only other place I've seen burnt ends this delicious was at Buckingham BBQ when we stopped by on a lark while heading to Branson, MO. Additionally, the egg rolls served here were delicious. Looking forward to returning and trying their Cedar-Plank Salmon Caesar and Hickory-Smoked Sampler Platter.

My go to place for BBQ, beer and great service . Kayla K killed it on the patio. Funny, efficient and positive presence!

We ate here twice over the 4 nights we spent in the nearby Homewood Suites. A Best Buy, IMHO, is the $40 platter with 4 meats and 2 sides. We got that as takeout. Our hotel has a full fridge and the 2 of us had about 6 meals. The 4 meats were pulled pork, 1/4 smoked chicken(breast portion), spare ribs, and brisket. The spareribs were overcooked, hard and dry, 2/5. We tossed most of it. I loved the sliced brisket, 5/5, that had just enough fat to add flavor. The chicken was okay, 3/5 the pulled pork, 4/5. The takeout came in a nice aluminum pan. We had beans and fried okra as sides, 4/5. We ate our 2nd meal at the restaurant, se bill photo. I ordered the Smokehouse Dip, with au jus which is brisket chopped. I didn't like this brisket as much as the sliced brisket, to many brittle, hard, dry pieces. I wouldn't order it again. The pulled pork was just as good as the takeout. We would order that again. Our server didn't seem too interested in putting forth much effort. Perhaps she was having a bad day. :-( In spite of her, there is a positive vibe about the place with others smiling and trying to be helpful.

Enjoyed the interior and vibe of this restaurant. They were sold out of a handful of items by 6:30p. Brisket tacos were excellent. Others enjoyed their burgers. Great selection of sides and beer choices.

I always love trying a new BBQ joint, especially when visiting a new place. I came in for lunch and a lovely, beautiful bartender took care of me. They were moderately busy at the bar, but there wasn't anyone sitting at tables during lunchtime on a Tuesday. Service was quick, the food came out nice and fresh and hot. I wanted to try their brisket, so I got their brisket platter and added a jalapeño sausage to it. The brisket was decent, but was cut slightly too thick for the level of moisture it offered, so as it cooled just slightly, those dry pieces became very hard to choke down. I tried all of their sauces too, and there wasn't much difference in flavor and spice between the two non-mustard sauces, but all three were decent. The Texas toast that came with the platter was awesome! The dirty rice was spiced perfectly and had all the right stuff, when it comes to dirty rice. And their mac & cheese was excellent too. The sausage was decent, just didn't taste anything like there was jalapeño in it. Overall - Not bad. Definitely better than "Carolina BBQ" though, but nowhere near true Texas or KC BBQ. If I came back, I'd try their sandwiches or something like that instead. Maybe their wings.

Met a few friends here after walking around the river walk. Service was great. Good selection of beers and my friend was excited to see Original Sin Cider. We had the turkey, the brisket sandwich and the brisket French dip. All were tasty. The star was the basket of hush puppies. Good thing they are under $2 because we had three baskets of them. The Honey butter served with them was amazing. The only disappointment was the Mac and cheese. Neither of us liked it. It was thick like I like it but the flavor was not to our liking.

We got to Macs on a Thursday evening, and being our first time, we waited to be seated, that took a few minutes, not too bad. We got seated and given menus. When the waitress came by, we ordered the cracklings, a burger and a salad I can say that the cracklings were absolutely amazing. They were still crackling from the oil when they got to the table. I would absolutely order this again. The burger was good, pretty hard to mess it up. But the salad just wasn't good. The chicken strips were cold, and the lettuce was tasting like it was at its end, and the salad was HUGE, so a huge bowl of blah lettuce and cold chicken fingers. It was meh.
